Hello, Fellow Gardeners,

Many gardens produced very well this year, in spite of the unusual wet start to our gardening season. I hope your garden was one of those that did well.

Your SWGC executive team and several other volunteers have been busy during the past year. In addition to the routine but extensive administration of the Club, we have been working on the following:
1) A new SWGC blog
2) A new water pump system for the in-ground watering facilities
3) New signage
4) More efficiency relating to the compost bins
5) A labour and expertise contribution to the St. Amant Buhler Gardens, and
6) A new garden supplier discount for members (Rona Kenaston).

Our immediate future includes the following activities, namely:
1) To continue with permits and construction of the new water pump system
2) Shredding on site at individual garden plots
3) Trenching to better drain the garden
4) Examining acquisition of a new garden equipment shed
5) The September 12th SWGC picnic (rain day September 19th), and
6) A slate of interesting and informative speakers for our winter membership meetings.

For the future, please also consider the following. The SWGC can use more volunteers on an ad hoc basis as individual projects and activities arise. Please consider volunteering for various opportunities, and also helping out when the executive members request assistance. Remember the old saying, …many hands make work easier and fun.
